Rwanda’s commitment to Education is clear. Major improvements in education at all levels (primary, secondary and post-secondary) are essential to achieve its ambitious Vision 2020 goals to become a prosperous, modern nation with a sophisticated knowledgebased economy. While much progress has been made, the need for quality institutions of higher learning is far greater than the current supply.

Bishop John Rucyahana, one of Rwanda’s most active and effective leaders, has cast a vision of a new kind of university for a New Rwanda.

Muhabura University was established to educate and train the practical professional talent that Rwanda urgently needs and to develop servant leaders with strong character.
